Wipeout Pulse brings back all the reasons you loved the Wipeout series, and elevates the game to whole new grounds.

I was kinda disappointed with the previous Wipeout Pure, which to me seemed kinda bland in design and where all the good ideas were sort of half-baked.

But now, comes Wipeout Pulse. Wow. All I have to say is, I took the time to access my (deserted) Gamespot account just to write a review because it's just such a great game.

1) You can customize and upload your own ship. That's cool right there.

2) You get points for being loyal to your racing team. Makes you feel like you belong (especially since there are online ladders), and gives you reason other than control to choose a team.

3) Infrastructure mode: FINALLY a PSP game that does it well. I hate buying epic-sounding games like Call Of Duty to be given boring maps to shoot people without any point to it. Yawn. Wipeout Pulse brings you downloadable content made by other players, online ranking system (check out competitions soon, I guess), and if they ever kick a map editor in there, this will be hands-down the greatest PSP game of all time.

4) Play your own MP3s on races. Basic intelligent feature for a PSP title. Now finally a game made by people who took the time to think it over. Thank you for that.

5) Better music than Wipeout Pure. I used to turn off sound in Pure just because the tracks sucked so much. The selection is much better in Pulse, and brings back that feeling you used to have like "man-the-music-builds-up-and-reaches-its-peak-just-as-I-get-in-teh-zone-on-this-track"
