Flashy graphics but slow gameplay.

This was my first game for the PSP and it didn't fail to impress around my friends but after a while, the unvaried gameplay gets tedious. First of all, th graphics are bright, vibrant and pretty much perfect. The amount of detail for a realease date game is amazing and incredible. The sound effects are pretty average and the soundtrack is full of techno-dance futurism and it compliments to the graphics for stunning visuals. But then Wipeout starts to fall. The gameplay is great at first but it seems slow on the first difficulties. The weapons are great and there are lots of unlockables. After a while, all the fuss dies and your left with a bottom pile game. I spent under 10 hours on this game but all in all it's not bad. There are a couple of game modes and there is downloadable packs which contain new ships and tracks. This takes up about 50mb for all the downloads and really it's not worth it. Wipeout pure has the elements for an amazing game but the slow, repetitive gameplay let's it down. For some, the quantities of unlockables will fuel addict racers. For most, the gae will get less and less appealing.
