Wolfenstein 3D is the game that created the FPS game genre. It is an old game considering we are in 2004 but I think to understand how cool this game was we should accept that the hardware capabilities about 12 years ago were limited. Of course there were better looking games but most of them if were 2D. Wolfenstein 3D environments are a bunch o rooms separated by walls, there are no floor and sky textures. One of the strongest points of this game are the sound effects such as shooting and opening doors, the music is also good, not to say addicting. The gameplay was also good and as we all know has evolved a lot in FPS games since then. The biggest flaw was the annoying search for hidden passages which sometimes are a requirement to advance to the next level. Whoever played this game probably by the time it came out can understand how impressive it was. I just miss games like this nowadays, I mean, so much fun...
