"If people didn't already hate Nazi's enough, lets make them aliens from another dimension"

User Rating: 5.5 | Wolfenstein X360
The original Castle Wolfenstein released in 1981 for the Apple II, was a stealth orientated platformer. You play an American soldier, trying to escape the castle with secret Nazi war plans. Since the days of simple plot and gameplay, we have seen the Wolfenstein series focus on the occult side of Nazi Germany, with a vast array of interesting enemies and inventions. This latest addition puts you in the shoes of B.J." Blazkowicz, the protagonist from Wolfenstein 3D. B.J as he is referred to throughout the game, has picked up a Nazi artefact that allows him to enter the veil. This is a state where he is crossing between two dimensions, our world and the black sun dimension. This device has powers to allow B.J to walk through certain walls, slow down time, shield from bullets, and increase his weapons power.

The campaign itself which is set in Isenstadt, is home to three different groups you will become familiar with throughout the story. You will travel around the streets, canals and rooftops avoiding small skirmishes in the streets with Nazi patrols. This element of the game allows the player to have some freedom and mission priority.

Without getting too much involved in describing the plot breakdown, the game itself is quite easy, playing through on expert during the first run of the game. I stopped playing after the plot developed and I was fighting a giant Nazi spider from another dimension. AI is basic, most enemies tend to run at you, allowing you to pump a few bullets into them, before they hit the ground.

Although I didn't get around to playing multiplayer, most of the achievements are attained through this feature for xbox users. A large amount of bad press was released for this game, and although it has some flaws, it still has a tolerable campaign and at most points enjoyable, worth playing through.
