This compilation is dead-on, and World Heroes is a good fighter. What ruins it slightly are unresponsive controls.

Back in my younger days, I loved playing arcade games. I remember playing World Heroes a couple of times and really liking it, so this compilation was a welcome surprise. Having only played the first game in the arcades and owning the Super NES version of it shortly thereafter, I was looking forward to experiencing its three follow-ups in their arcade-perfect glory.

Well, the emulations of the games are dead-on perfect. I can't say the same for the controls. More often than not, I have had some trouble pulling off even some of the simplest attack moves. Worse still, the computer is very unforgiving in its difficulty, especially on its easiest setting. I couldn't even beat the first opponent when the computer seems to predict every move I make and constantly uses that against me. Or maybe I'm just bad at fighting games. At least I don't have to waste quarters this time.

As far as the entire package, it's definately spot on in its arcade emulation. SNK Playmore did a fantastic job compiling the whole deal. If you're a big fan of WH, then you should definately own it for your collection. And at $20, it's almost a steal.
