Supreme ruler of MMOs

User Rating: 9.5 | World of Warcraft PC
World of Warcraft is the supreme ruler of all MMOs. It is easily the most innovative game in it's genre, and one of the most innovative games of all time. I personally, have spent 1000+ hours playing this game and there is still more content to explore; especially since Blizzard (the company that runs Warcraft) is constantly adding more content through patches, and releasing expansion packs about every 2 years or so.

In the game, you get to choose between two opposing factions, the Horde, and the Alliance. Each faction has it's own unique races (ex. Horde: Orc; Alliance; Human). The race that you choose won't really matter in the long run (even though each race does have it's advantages/disadvantages, but it really doesn't matter all too much). What will matter though, is what class that you choose. There are 10 classes in WoW (including the Death Knight in WotLK), each with their own set of skills and potential talents. The first class that I chose was Warrior. High defense, high health, medium DPS, melee combat, yada yada, you get the picture. Read the class descriptions and see what class that you think you will most enjoy being.

After you have chosen your character the real fun begins. You want to level your character to the level cap and get 'epic' gear/items. In the process, you will run dungeons, ride mounts, make friends, maybe join a successful guild, learn professions that make you profit, and explore the vast world of Azeroth. I cannot go into all the details that this game harnesses as I cannot think or type all of it.

Conclusively, I did not give this game a perfect score because I believe this game can cause addiction, and this is a major setback. I have quit this game about 3 times over a 3 year span. I currently have not played the game in about 10 months and I am starting to get cravings again. This game is great and I certainly recommend it, but just be aware of it's addiction level.
