World of Warcraft has the potential to be a perfect game, but with minor issues that should not stop you from buying!

User Rating: 9.5 | World of Warcraft PC
World of Warcraft is an massive multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) that just makes these type of games worth playing. Whether you have tried Everquest II, Vanguard Saga of Heroes, Final Fantasy XI, or even Wizard 101, none of those come close to how this game turns out. Sure at first your thinking what a "kid looking" game, but don't be fooled by that.

Like most MMORPGs you are given the choice to make your character, select your class from a set of classes such as mage, warrior, rogue, blood mage, and several others, as well as your race such as gnome, dwarf, troll, human, and others as well. The customization of the characters may not be as detailed as EVQII or VG, but personally I don't really look at characters and how long or thick their eyebrows are, or how long their nose is. The character creating is quite short and easy, which really starts the game off already at a positive note.

Once you have created your character you will be brought to the world of WoW. This world is not what you think it is. Unlike EVQII there are no loading zones, here you will have the ability to travel from place to place and see the environment and people change as you travel. You will be on the adventure of leveling up while defeating monsters by yourself or with other players playing the game, or completing quests that can be picked up throughout the entire world. These quests can range from lasting a few minutes to hours. Besides this, you can level up your crafting skills, make a fortune by selling your created goods, or power your character up with armor and weapons that have been enchanted by yourself while crafting. Whatever you do, in WoW there is never a time where you can say "I have nothing to do". This is one of the many positive aspects of the game, that while game is being updated with new content non stop, you will be at the same time completing the game that has may seem short but really isn't.

With so much to do in WoW, and with so many places to explore, quest, and hack and slash through, there really never is an ending to this game. The music in this game is great, which really puts you in the mood to playing the game, as you can hear dark and loud music as you are entering the evil cities of the Horde, or calm gentle music as you enter the home of the Blood Elves, or Dwarves. The gameplay as stated above is just fantastic with you never getting bored and always having something to do. Control are easy to learn and with all the shortcuts its easy to open a bag, or your inventory unlike the recently released Final Fantasy XIV which you would have to go through a whole process of buttons to open your inventory.

The reason why this game can not be a 10.0 is quite simple. One word will explain its flaw….graphics. Graphics are the only aspect of the game where I would have to say FFXIV, EVQII, or even VG will be the upper hand here. The graphics are just not real, they look a bit childish as the some characters do not have the correct "look" that you would expect them to have. This game can be compared to a little like the graphics in W101 have. As we see in EVQII and FFXIV the graphics actually look real, as the armor is very detailed and many aspects of the environment are well designed as well. In WoW it seems like you are watching more of a 3D cartoon show, than rather paying a fantastic game as if you were in a real world. Though with this one flaw of the graphics and the fact that updates can be rather lengthy if your playing for the first time, the monthly fee is worth the game, and the game is just fantastic.

Gandalf makes the wise decision of giving this game a 9.5!
