Simply, the best game. Ever.
User Rating: 9.8 | World of Warcraft PC
I have been playing this game for quite a while now, and have 2 characters, one an orc and one a night elf. Let me tell you, the game just gets better and better. And it's awesome to begin with. If you enjoy the following even the slightest bit, then you will love this game: rpg's, massively multiplayer games, warcraft, blizzard entertainment, fantasy, having fun. GAMEPLAY: 10 The gameplay is flawless. I've been playing on a mountain time server, and while there have been a couple of rough spots logging in (which will undoubtedly be fixed by the end of the week), once you're in, it's awesome. An awesome interface that doesn't intrude on the action of the game, little icons that tell you which button is which, extremely easy-to-use, etc. Basically, it's the best interface i've ever used. You could basically play the game without ever looking at the manual. It's that good. It's never rough once you're into the game. The only time i've been booted was because i did something that i wasn't supposed to do (fell off a cliff that was pretty difficult to fall off of). Overall, perfect. GRAPHICS: 9 This game is beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Blizzard did a perfect job of taking the warcraft universe and turining it into this mmorpg. I actually feel like i'm playing in Warcraft 3. Even if you've never played warcraft before, you'll get a distinct style of the buildings and characters, which are all a little over-porportioned in some areas, but all look very nice. The only complaint i have with them is that very rarely there is a weird over-extended part of a dungeon/cave (it only happens in them) that looks ugly and really isn't supposed to be there. You can walk right through them, but you can't see through them. For instance, once i was in a dungeon with a ton of monsters in it, and an over-extended part of a cave wall was blocking my view of the way ahead. So i walk through it, and there's a huge ravenous monster right there waiting to slaughter me. While these things happen rarely, it affects the graphics enough for me to give it a 9. SOUND: 9 Great sound that doesn't really stand out most of the time, but when it does, it's truely awesome. For instance, the background music isn't something to pay attention to (it's just there so it's not silent), but the battle sounds (swords hitting armor, flesh, etc.) and the stuff that npc's say when you click on them really shine. Blizzard actually took the same voices from Warcraft 3 and had them do them in this game. Some of the voices are actually from the game itself! Overall, 9. VALUE: 10 If i could go higher than 10 i would. You could literally spend every waking moment playing this game for the next 3 years and still not see everything there is to see. 100's upon 100's of items, monsters, locations, and best of all, quests, are packed into World of Warcraft's massive continents. Just to give you an idea of how big this world is, i was the night elves for my first class, and started off in a training area. 3 days later, i explored all of what i thought to be a fairly large area, and knew where everything was. Then i looked at the world map. It turns out that the island i had thought to be fairly large was about 1/100 of the size of the continent next to it, and there turned out to be another continent next to that continent which was even larger! Seriously massive folks. And the quests make it so that you're never bored. I've never had a moment where i had nothing to do. Plus, Blizzard is constantly adding new stuff to it :). Best...value...ever! (10). TILT: 10 Best game i've ever played. The monthly fee is totally worth it. GET IT NOW.
