First off, I have to say that I've never played a game quite like Worms 3D. It is an interesting and different type of game. The idea is to create your worm team and due battle with other teams. It's a turn based game where each player gets a chance to kill your opponent. The gameplay, like I said, is different then what I'm used to. It's not a run around, shoot 'em up, fast paced actioner. It's a slow, methodical, strategy based shooter. I can't say whether I really like it or not, it's just different. The controls are little clunky. Zooming in to aim at your target is tricky, especially since there is no option to invert they y-axis. (I'm used to first person shooters that allow you to push up to look down and vice-versa). Also, aiming isn't too much help because each weapon as a different type of arc in which it travels. Granted, that makes it challenging, but I didn't have the patience to learn them all. In terms of graphics, they're not bad, but a little juvenile. I guess that's ok, though, since it's aimed at kids. All the explosions and "deaths" are pretty similar, and it's often difficult to find your way around, but overall the graphics are ok. Sound is kind of non-existent. It didn't impress me or bother me. So, I guess that's mediocre. I didn't get a chance to let my nephews at it before I sent it back. The real test would have been to let them give it a shot. I think the younger ones would have enjoyed it, but found the controls challenging. While the older ones would probably have found the controls frustrating and the graphics pretty plain. But, I'm assuming. As I said, I think it has potential, especially for kids. But, I was less than impressed.
