It is a great game but seems to "fill only half of the glass."

User Rating: 7.5 | Worms: Open Warfare PSP

This is a really fun game, a good port to the PSP, but this game has a few problems. Really good multiplayer keeps you on edge, but is only Ad-Hoc. WormBots are too complicated, either they know too much or know nothing at all. I have learned to get passd these things.

Gameplay: It really is Worms in the palm of your hand, with a few missing details. Challenges are the same as Deathmatch mode from its predessecors, only you must beat three tutorials. The tutorials are easy, well what do you expect? THE'RE TUTORIALS!!! The first challenge may be easy, just like the first level in every level-based game, it really isn't a real challenge anyway, it just tests the things you learned from the tutorials.
I am familiar with using codes to make levels in the game, the same code system is used in Worms 3D. Only one thing disappoints me about it. In Worms 3D if you put TEAM17 as the code you would get a very unique level. I tried this with Worms Open Warfare, and it doesn't work. If anyone finds a code that creates a really cool level, tell me via response to this review.
The landscapes are fantastic, but there aren't enough textures/land items. What happened to the really exaggerated craters we all came to know and love? Other than that the landscapes are good, but remember the codes (see above paragraph).
This is the part EVERYBODY has a problem with, weapons. There aren't enough weapons, and the weapons are slow. The homing missiles are really stupid (as in miss their target often). There is no double damage for blowing a worm up next to a gas can. However, the rope is longer than other ropes in the genre (except in super rope mode).

Multiplayer: The multiplayer is to die for but it only has an ad hoc connection. Not being able to play worms on WLAN is something you must deal with.

Sounds: The music is great and the sound FX are also good. The music gives you a relaxed but yet focused feeling during the game. The speech is the same but only now you choose the worm team's accent with a wide variety of accent choices. The cute, helium speech they have is still funny.
"Stuuuupid." "Incoming!" "Run for it!" "What the?" "What was that?" "Yes!"

Graphics: It looks like a mix in between Worms 3D and Armageddon, giving the worms a sleeker and slightly cuter look. 3D backgrounds are a fine addition to the game. The cinamatics (which are actually remakes of the Worms World Party cinamatics) are good looking and very fun to watch.

Conclusion: This game IS worth buying because, it may not have the weapons or features, but is still Worms nothing less. Multiplayer is great if you can get some friends together. This game still has the wormish feel to it everytime you play it. It is a great game but seems to "fill only half of the glass."
