WWE 12: Almost There, But Just Not Making it Gold! Here's Why.

After playing WWE 12 for a while, I decided this Game HAD to be reviewed. Overall the game has a great fight system; fast fluid attacks, intense fighting, swift movement and control and the best graphics the WWE game franchise has seen yet. However despite these major improvements since the previous games the biggest and most disappointing drawback in WWE 12 is definitely its Ineffective, almost impossible and highly annoying counter-attack feature. The Counter-Attack feature, for those of you who don't know, is basically the games feature to allow you to counter and reverse an attack your opponent attempts to aim at you. In this game the feature is like i said extremely ineffective. How? WWE 12 has the feature that tells you when to press the appropriate button to reverse an attack however this feature hardly ever appears at the right time (sometimes not at all) and even when it does, you, as the player, has literally half a second to perform the reversal at the exact right moment or else your reversal is deemed to be nothing. This as you can imagine can get severely annoying after long hours of losing fights simply because you cant seem to reverse anything. And to make matters worse the computer players in this game seem to be able to counter-attack with a sickening ease and this adds to the downfall of this aspect of WWE 12.
But Don't despair! Despite the horrible counter-attack feature WWE 12 has a great single and multiplayer mode and can be extremely fun (once your winning and not losing due to failure reversals) and entertaining for hours on end. Also the fact that this game gives you the ability to create your own custom Character, Entrances, Move sets, Finishers and story mode adds to the sheer fact that this game is a formidable force in the action game universe. Once you get past the tad bit drawn out "Road To WrestleMania" Feature and the horrible Counter-Attack feature, WWE 12 is definitely a game worth buying and playing on a day with some friends (considering their not rage quitters!).
