WWE Smackdown: SYM is without a doubt one of the greatest wrestling games of all time.
The graphics, animations, and gameplay are so smooth and outstanding, that you actually feel like your watching it on tv. We all know how terrible the commentary from JBI was, so thankfully they put in JR and King in to make comments about the match as well as the superstars in it. With that, we will never have to listen to Michael Cole continually say "The Undertaker's.....The Last Ride..... is great" again. All the matches you could ask for are in this game like Hardcore, I Quit, TLC, and Hell in a Cell. 9.5/10
The average CAW modes from the first three Smackdown games were strongly upgraded so that you can add any detail to your creations that you want and make it look real. They even added nWo logos so you can create Scott Hall or nWo Konnan or anyone else you want. They even put in Rey Mysterio's mask, attire, and tattoos. The only problem is that your CAWs won't have any teeth. 8.5/10
The game's season mode is among the best of all wrestling games with all of the amazing storylines and matches of 2002, including the nWo ambulance crash, the Hair vs Hair match, and the WWE Draft. The majority of season mode revolves around the Ric Flair/Vince McMahon feud/alliance where the WWE is broken in two, kind of like the WWF-Alliance battle from 2001. You then have two paths you can take: you can stay loyal with your brand, or you can defect to the other show. This game's season mode is only matched by the great one from Here Comes the Pain. So if you want a game with a great season mode, there's no reason why you shouldn't be playing this game. 10/10
This game has the most complete roster you could ever ask for in a game with every main eventer, jobber, and everyone in between on the roster. Wanna play as The Game? Destroy opponents with The Undertaker? Have incredible speed with Jeff Hardy? Help Shawn Stasiak win a match? You can do all that and much, much more with the 60+ superstars on this game. 10/10
In my opinion, Smackdown Shut Your Mouth is the most complete wrestling game out there with all the features needed to create a great game. So if you're looking for a game that'll keep you busy for a while, I strongly recommend this game to even the most casual wrestling fan. I give this game a 9.3 overall.
