Lay the Smackdown! on a bus, in a car, on a boat or anywhere you'd like. With WWE and the PSP you can enjoy it anywhere.
The sound is great and has pretty much every wresters current theme when the game was released worldwide. The background music on the other hand isn't as amazing as the wrestlers themes. I am about to scratch my eyes out if I hear another "Krush, Kill, Destroy", lyric again. Hopefully THQ and Yukes have read and will listen to the fans reviews and not place such annoyance in the games again. I'm not sure if there is commentary provided on this version of the game because I keep the game on mute while wrestling and I play my own background music, but if there was I guess it would be almost identical to the PS2 version. It was an improved commentary track on the PS2 but that even started to get annoying.
The graphics are impressive, although you notice the graphic blocks as you focus more and more on the match or the game. Nothing negatvie other than that point to report for the graphics part of the game. THQ and Yukes have improved their graphics proccessor a lot over the years and I imagine they continue to do so for the next Smackdown vs. Raw game which will hit the PSP, PS3 and XBOX 360 in the next few months.
The gameplay is incredible. I mentioned earlier that I'm addicted to the game and can't really put it down although I've tried to do so. I enjoy the fact that you also have a GM mode to go through and being a fan of statistics and reading, I'm more into the General Manager mode than the season mode or any other part of the game. It's exciting to see which show can pull off all the stops andbe the one supreme show. I've had some impressive matches over the months and its great to see that you get ratings for them. You also have the choice of payments as far as contracts go, as well as the title shots everyone will recieve and the type of match they'll be in. You also have the choice to play the match or simulate it.
This game will be in my hands for a very long time. I will play it to the bone and to the bare bones if I have to. The overall value of Smackdown vs. Raw is great and will always be like that. This franchise will continue to excel the epectations of their fans and that makes me happy.
