A great portable wrestling experience from THQ/Yuke's!
Smackdown VS Raw on the PSP is really a great game, boasting nearly everything intact from the PS2 version, such as voice acting in the Season Mode, all the Game Modes including Money in the Bank, and for good measure, a new mode exclusive for the PSP, "Road to Wrestlemania".
I'm mainly steering this review to people that already have the PS2 version and are considering getting the PSP version. Let's start with the gameplay. The gameplay has everything the PS2 version has. Since the PSP doesn't have two analog sticks, you are forced to use the buttons to play. They differ from Smackdown 06's controls however, for example, to do a grapple you press R and Circle whilst in older versions, you would just press circle.
Ultimate Control Moves are still in there, with all you needing to do is when you are in a grapple movement against your opponent all you need to do is press circle. Awesome. Some controls have been changed, such as the ladder matches (you use Triangle to grab for the belt/suitcase) and for me, Ladder/Money in the Bank matches had a really better feel on the PSP version then the PS2 version, mainly because my matches are more intense on the PSP version (lol)
The graphics are probably the weakest part of the PSP version. Backgrounds look very muddy, the crowd is like two rows of people, and as an result, the atmosphere of a wrestling match doesn't get captured as well on the PSP version. However the characters look better then they do last year, which is good.
Loading times have been improved as well, even with CAW's, it takes roughly about the same time as the PS2 version (I would say a bit quicker) The Road to Wrestlemania mode is basically like the "King of the Ring" matches on Smackdown 2, you can decide to put the belt on the line for the winner. It's awesome, and it's a fun way to make a superstar of your choice win a belt of your choice.
Overall, if you have some spare cash and you want to bring your wrestling along wherever you go, don't hesitate to get WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2007 for PSP.
