Smackdown! vs. Raw is a big step away and above it's earlier incarnate - Here Comes The Pain. THQ improved on their WWE formula with this title, the HCTP, SYM, etc. games were WAAAAAY to closely related.
WWE:SvsR was a definite turn in the RIGHT direction for the franchise.
Sadly, this game is not with out it's own problems.
The Entrance sequences seem to be severely rushed, and the motions just are not very believable. There is that familiar problem with a wrestler's arm or leg passing through their opponent. I mean come on, it get's to be an eyesore after a while.
The create a wrestler mode is nice, but they need to expand it some more.
Like the ability to use multiple hair patterns to give your creation more of a personal touch. Another addition they could use is to allow more layers for your created wrestler instead of the 25-28 layers you are allowed.

Over all this is an enjoyable game, but it still needs some work.
So hopefully by the time we see a Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 all the bugs will be worked out and we will see a perfect WWE game
