A Pretty Girl With No Brains

For any of you who have read my Smackdown! vs. Raw, you may be surprised that I preordered WM21, and grabbed it as soon as possible. I did so because it looked really promising. I didn’t care about only using created wrestlers in career, that’s all I use any way. So imagine my surprise to see such a limited CAS offers in a game built around the feature. Unfortunately this wasn’t the worse thing I was about to encounter. The career mode has a decent story, but is still far too shallow. I long for the day when some one makes a deep career mode. I’m still waiting. After pushing the release date back a month and 2 days (rumor was it was to tighten up online play) this game still comes broken. The game is glitchy, laggy, and the online feature doesn’t work. Gameplay- I don’t mind the simple controls, which are a staple of most wrestling games anyways. What I do mind is shoddy AI. It took me five tries and one restart (game locked up after I won during replay) before I got passed Cena and JBL in a ladder match, because the AI would rather knock over the ladder or keep fighting me while the other wrestler got to the belt. The Royal Rumble was a handicap match most of the time because the AI had wrestlers waiting for me to get done getting pounded so they could some. Tag team action is atrocious. And did I mention the online doesn’t work. Graphics- The graphics are nice, good job SG you did one thing right. Sound – The voice over is much better than S vs. R. But the music seems eerily familiar, oh yeah it was in S Vs R. Value- I don’t even recommend renting this game unless you are an inspiring programmer/designer and want to see what not to do. At $50 dollars you are paying to be a beta tester. I will never trust THQ to publish a wrestling game again. I hate to say it but it is time that the WWE check into the EA Sports Big Hotel. Tilt- When will game makers learn that Beautiful graphics are icing on the cake not the main ingredient. Steer clear of this game and don’t make the same mistake I made.
