The N64 version of Attitude has the upper hand in graphics, but pales to the PS1 version in just about everthing else.
Bad: But the graphics are a bit muddy, Sound issues, No extra costumes for wrestlers, Problems with create-a-stadium, Missing theme songs and voices
If you read my review for the PS1 version of Attitude, you pretty much know my feelings about it. I thought it was okay. However, the N64 version seems like just a sloppy port of a mediocre game.
The two main draws to this version are the lack of loading times and smoother graphics. While the no loading times seems like a big improvement, it doesn't seem like a good bargain, especially considering that the N64 version lacks a lot of stuff from the PS1 version.
The graphics are very smooth, but they are not detailed, giving them a very sloppy look.
There are no changes to the gameplay, so I'm just gonna move on.
There a quite a few problems with the CAW mode. While all the costumes are there, many of the generic voices are missing, and the majority of the generic theme songs are gone, eliminating the classic "Agent X" tune. Also, the actual wrestlers' theme songs are remixed and some parts completely missing due to the N64's lack of storage.
There is also a problem with the create-a-stadium mode. The entrance sign is always set to the WWF logo...always. It gives you the option to change it, but nothing. Likewise with the ring apron thing from the PS1, which means that while it gives you the option to change the color, it's always black. It has also been brought to the N64.
One other thing is the lack of bonus costumes for the WWF wrestlers, which is one of the things I liked about the PS1 version.
In closing, Attitude for the N64 is simply not worth the money, although you can buy it for 99 cents online, but even then, it's still not that great (considering you bought it that cheap). I feel sorry for the folks who spent fifty bucks for this version when it hit stores in 1999. This version is nowhere near the quality of the PS1 version. I'd rather pick the total package with long loading times than pick the one with short loading times and less features any day.
