The crown jewel of wrestling games, WWF No Mercy still has no equal among the genre.

This game brings happiness and sadness to wrestling fans. It's still one of the few games that I still play on my N64. It's that much fun. The sad part is, however, that after all these years, Yukes still can't match this gems funfactor. The pace of NM is just right, not as fast as SMACKDOWN!, and not as slow as RAW. While it may seem like the game has a lackluster amount of matches compared to the latest games, but the gameplay makes up for it. The grapple system is perfectly exacuted and looks a great deal like the real wrestlers. The story mode of extremely deep with branching stories like a apple tree. Of course, I can always find something to b***** about, like how incredibly boring the cutscenes are without voiceovers. Plus, the create-a-wrestler mode isn't too deep and doesn't let me create freakishly deformed wrestlers (see my WWE: HCTP review). These are minor problem, but they do get in the way of the fun factor. In conclusion, No Mercy is not only the best wrestling game ever, but is among the greatest fighting games.
