Probably The Best Wrestling Game to date.
User Rating: 9.2 | WWF No Mercy N64
The nintendo 64 was flooded with fighting games. Many of them were good, but a lot of them were not. AKI/THQ made 2 WCW games with the same engine until EA took over the WCW series (and the james bond series... grrr....), and made those games just suck. Yeah, I hate EA, but AKI/THQ made the move to Wrestlemania 2000. No mercy came out later with a few less features, but solid gameplay. This game is still the same World Tour/Revenge/WM2000 Engine, but it's the best game to use it. WIth character entrances that depict their lifelike moves, and props, there is little to stand in the way of a great match. The create a wrestler mode has been enhanced from wrestlemania 2000, and you can still pick most of the same faces. Weapons no longer Disappear when dropped, and Ladder matches have been added. This games was one of the "solid 5" games of the N64. There are a few shortcommings like words left out (Cage "atch" with bossman), and the "No Mercy bug" which happens for no reason and erases ALL CAWS. Entrances were cut to the beginnings. WIth all these bugs one might think this game was not worth playing, but the gameplay was so solid that it's impossible not to love after a few matches! Going backstage, breaking tables, and defending titles against friends are some of the reasons I feel this is THE wrestling game to get for any system.
