Surprisingly great!
Despite the time this came out, Raw has quite a lot of game modes. It has basic single and tag matches - these can be customised to either hardcore or best of 3 falls matches - but it also has Royal Ruble, Survivor Series and Raw Endurance.
Each of the matches are fun to play and pretty challenging even on the easiest setting.
The controls are very good in Raw and don't take long to get used to. B is to punch and A is to kick, Y to run and X to tie up. Once you tie up it becomes a test of strength. Whoever gains the most power during the tie up performs the move. You gain power by rapidly tapping a button of your choice. All four face buttons as well as the shoulder buttons are used for different moves.
Raw's graphics were great for it's time and are still pretty good today. The ring,and the characters are all bright and detailed. The audience is kinda average but they never stand out in wrestling games.
There is also some good sounds and music music in this game. Each wrestler has there own theme music which is just like their actual theme. The different moves like DDT's, Suplexes and Powerbombs sound great but a few things like punches and kicks could have been done a little better.
Considering this game is over ten years old it still stands out as a great wrestling game. It features lots of match types and options and a great roster. All this mixed with great graphics and sound and you have an awesome game!
