X-Men Legends is finally the game PSP owners have been waiting for. It has great graphics, fantastic game play and awesome voice acting. The graphics in the cinematics are near PS2 quality and the in game comic book feel is also a pleasant surprise. While the game play is still essentially hack and slash or beat ‘em up, it still improves quite a bit from the first. In both the amount of characters available and the number of special attacks for each mutant. When I first heard the voice acting, I was thoroughly stunned that a handheld game could contain such an awesome amount of sounds and voice acting. All of the cinematics and mission briefings are all voice acted along with talking too characters you meet throughout the game. However good X-Men legends may be on the outside, it is definitely covering up a few bumps on the inside. First every time you come from a menu, it glitches for some time until it finally recovers. It also gets very annoying when you have too backtrack your steps and it is very easy to get lost or begin to misunderstand the game. Also when you need a Mutant with a special power and you find he isnt in your team it is a large pain to travel to an extraction point to get him out, suffer through the loading, and hope he doesn’t die from Being such a small level compared too the enemies. The class an equipment settings are very difficult to understand but luckily have an automatic add too button to release some stress. While X-Men Legends 2 may have a few bad points, overall this game is a must have for all PSP owners.
