A pretty decent beat 'em up.

User Rating: 6.5 | X-Men Origins: Wolverine DS
The DS version of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" is actually quite decent. Here's the thing though, first off, It can be finished in about 3 hours. Not really a terrible thing, you know, keep it short and sweet. Second, this is obviously the "kid" version. It has an "E10+" rating, and it's the "best" option for parents who want to buy a Wolverine game to their kids. Not necessarily. You see, the other games on the 360, PS3 and the PSP were complete cakewalks. Practically zero challenge to be found in those, here on the other hand, it's a whole 'nother story. The game is not messing around, it is the hardest game of the three, by far.

Enemies will gang up on you from both sides, did I mention it's a 2D side scroller? And unless you learn to master the "block" move, you're one dead duck in a matter of seconds. So keep your finger on the "R" button at all times. Also, Logan's health regenerates way too slow. The difficulty level may be too much for many kids, but it makes the game feel more rewarding when you actually defeat the enemies, and the bosses. The bosses vary from easy, like Gambit and Deadpool to really tough, like Sabretooth. But the fights are actually really fun, with one exception. The game has a great comical look to it. Characters look really "cartoony", in a good way.

The DS version is short, hard and mostly pretty good, with some annoying difficult sections. But beat 'em up veterans are probably gonna appreciate the challenge.
