Classic beat-em up featuring 6 playable X-men. While it hasnt aged very well, its still fun to play through sometimes.

This game brings back memories for many people myself included. Playing it today, its just not as good as i remember as a kid. Its a very basic and slightly above average beatemup. If you take away your love of the x-men, this game just isnt that great. Its not deep at all, you walk around and attack bad guys or use a mutant power on them. Theres no blocking or really much skill. The sound of the game and the graphics are excellent tho, and when you combine this with the x-men universe you understand why so many people loved this game. For its time, it was the very best x-men game, despite some other problems. For one, since when did wolverine shoot lasers from his claws? Thats his mutant power? Colossus explodes??? Not to mention the horrible dialogue, example: Magneto: "Welcome...to die!!!" or "I am Magneto, Master of Magnet." Despite the setbacks of the game, even today it still holds up as one of the best x-men games ever created, especially if your playing with 3-6 people at the same time. The boss fights are fun, the environments are cool and somewhat interactive, and the games sound and graphics set it apart from other games from this team. Overall, a solid experience, but it could have been even better.
