You won't find a better space simulator. You Start out like any other game, X Universe gives you a tutorial initiation mission as well as a string of missions that you can complete to gain another starship. You have no linier path in the game. From the start you can go to any sector. Salvaging after the huge space battles between the argon and the pirates. The endgame is to have huge ships and plenty of factories and credits.
The spacestation textures are decent at best but then again so are the building textures in Flight sim X. Effects are compareable to mass effect. and Space battles can be epic in size. Trade is solid, and can be profitable to the player. Especially when you encounter the pirates pillageing thru a sector, they leave alot of crates. Advisable even if you just playing for fighting is to save for a fast superfrieghter to follow you through the rubble and pick up the crates to trade in for some of the most profitable salvage.
If you like spacecraft, trading, or building your corprate empire, you will love this game. Its fun for space exploration, and you will find it hard to put it down. I recomend this game to anyone who plays eve or loves science fiction. If only they could make a star wars or star trek game this well put together.
