How did they manage to make the Old UFO for 2012 gamers, on multiple platforms? Pretty darn well!

Sorry for the poor rendering, it seems gamespot is having issues w spaces today. Ok, first : I love the old ufo, I love civ games (played thousands of hours from civ 1 to 5, but kinda disliked 5), sim city's and 4 x games. My expectations for this ''remake'' were extremely high and so far they have been met. pros : It feels like the good old game, version 2012. Combat tactics refined but easy to understand. Crew member rankings, skills system is simple and efficient.Real action close combat cinematic short scenes are stunning, yet w some angles glitches.A lot of things to manage in your base, not dumbled down from old game. You feel the FEAR when in combat, your pace goes higher! Leave no soldier behind!Nice, reasonable 2012 graphx, cool soundtracks and noise effects...................Cons : Only one real base to manage. so far no base invasion........max 6 soldiers on the field.........Kinda ''strict'' tutorial.. good for new gamers, kinda long for old ones...............Bottom line, I can't believe they actually achieved in recreating this old classic + having it well enjoyable on consoles and pc at the same time. Old school PC gamers will ''feel'' the console effect on the gameplay and might ask for more ''micromanaging'' or more stats/details that could have been shown for examples soldiers stats or actually hiring individual scientists or buying avalanche missiles (which are now supplied endlessly ). But you still get a LOT of information on researchs and you can customize a lot of things related to your crew (names, faces, armor colors, equipment).I have to say the sentiment of attachment to your crew is even more important and their skills development and specializations is certainly the best new asset the newer version brings. Firaxis. You made it! High Five from an old school gamer.
