Man, can these characters yak or what. 45 minute cutscenes! Not a bad deal for an old geezer like me though. After a busy day of programming and general typing, my wrists are ready for a nice rest. Other than the lengthy dialogue (which I have to admit I find oddly compelling even though the voice acting is fairly heavy on the Velveeta), the actual gameplay is pretty fun, if extremely derivative of... well, every RPG ever made really, but Final Fantasy in particular. Run around, get in monster battles (they aren't random but they might as well be since evading enemies is extremely difficult), screen swirls, sound goes "whoosh", big orchestral music swells. Duh duh DAAAAHHH!! Attack, heal, attack, heal. Wish you had enough points for the big mega attack but if you do it you won't have enough HP to survive the next round of enemy assault, so you have to heal instead. The spell and battle effects are gosh darn pretty, although some characters are a little on the fruity side (MOMO I'm looking at you.) Anyway, if you like RPG's you've already got this and are playing the heck out of it, so why are you reading this?
