Xenosaga Ep. 1: Der Wille zur Macht: 5 out of 10.

User Rating: 5 | Xenosaga Episode I Reloaded: Chikara e no Ishi PS2
Graphics: Well the graphics for Xenosaga aren't bad, they lack a certain level of detail. This makes the game feel like one hallway after another. Lucky the in game movies graphics are top notch, and there's plenty to go around. 1 out of 2 for Graphics.

Sound: Again nothing great here. Not bad, not good, but decent. I will say the voice overs are nice. 1 out of 2 for sound.

Gameplay: This is something that this game did right. The battle system is based on the xenogears battle system, and is much deeper then it first appears. While it will does have a pretty steep learning curve it feels that much more rewarding when you do finally master it. Unfortunatly this game does not offer much else in the way of gameplay. 1 out of 2 for Gameplay.

Storyline: Xenosaga was created for it's story line. First off, It's MASSIVE! almost too massive. Most casual gamers will probably lose intrest fairly quickly, but if you can manage to muck through the in-game "encyclopedia" (no joke. the game has it's own encyclopedia) then it actually a very, very good story line. 2 out of 2 for Storyline.

Misc.: While the game does have some minigames and side quests it nothing that a casual gamer would really be intrested in. The game really doesn't offer much in the way of replayablitiy, but it's long enough for once through to be enough. 0 out of 2 for Misc.

Overall: Casual Gamers Beware. This is not for anyone looking for a fun game. However, if you want storyline and character development this game is right up your alley. 5 out of 10 Overall.
