Extreme-G 3 fits into the usually cool category of futuristic racers. You have F-ZERO, with its punishing but rewarding difficulty and Wipeout, with it's great controls as well. Unfortunately, XG 3 isn't the same. Sure you go very fast along rollercoaster-like tracks, but the cycles controls are so stiff the game just starts to get boring quick. The game has weapons, too, but a lot of them are unbalanced and difficult to hit with.
There are only a few gameplay modes in here, your average tournament, free run, you know the deal. You can pick between about ten different cycles, but there's almost no difference between them at all besides color. The graphics are pretty good, nothing special.
If you're looking for a good racer, I couldn't recommend X G 3 to you. Personally I'll think twice about buying a game that involves motorcycles in the future.
