Did you kill JFK in all your comic-book style glory?
XIII Who shot JFK? Big question! But this game is about the question. A man wakes up on a beach and doesn’t remember a thing (how convenient), all he knows about is the number 13 in roman numerals (XIII) on his chest. A life guard comes over and takes him into her hut then she gets shot. CHATTACHATTA! Flashes around her body like in a comic book. You gain control of him so you run into the other room and grab some throwing knives, you then chuck one at some man’s face and nick his pistol. Then you creep around the side of the hut and kill the life guard’s murderer. What an action-packed opening! Most of XIII’s levels are like that though you have to be cunning like on the second level when you’re not allowed to kill anyone so you knock them out by grabbing a chair, broom or ashtray and hammering them round the head with it or you might want to grab a human shield and take out a pistol as a threat (just DON’T fire it).
You see XIII is thought of as JFK’s assassin but only a few people think he’s innocent like General Carrington and Jones. They’ll do whatever they can to help you but others like The Mongoose want you dead. As you progress you’ll find out a lot about your past by discovering packages with photos and by playing in your flashbacks. But first you’ll have to kill a lot of your doubters. It’s been a long time since a first-person shooter with a good story came along so this is brilliant.
Some people will think that because it’s got a good storyline it hasn’t got good gameplay but look at what I said way before this (What an action-packed opening), I mean how many other games can you say that about? As well as having non-stop action it has great weapons like the throwing knives (what other games have that?), the bazooka and my personal favourite the M60. Most guns come with an alternate fire like with the shotgun you can smack someone with the butt or with the grenades you just drop it right next to you. But just firing the gun you’ll see the line of fire moves up the screen as XIII tries to keep it steady so it’s best to start at the bottom and work up although it generally only happens on the assault rifle. If you’re in the middle of an explosion you have to wait until the dust settles to move by then you’ve probably been shot anyway and then you’re blood is still there for at least another 20 minutes so it’s those little touches that make everything seem so much more real.
One of the best things about XIII is the multiplayer games, you can spend hours hunting down your mate that’s sitting right next to you only to get shot by Globey (Atlas-one of the CPUs). One of the best places is Plain Rock with it’s many air vents. In one air vent I was able to stay put and lob grenades (supplied inside) to anyone who dared come inside for two whole hours. You see the beauty of XIII is the fact that you don’t feel a bit bad for blowing a hole in someone’s head because it doesn’t look real because of the cartoon graphics but amazingly it still manages to be 3D. I said before that the multiplayer is one of the best parts but it isn’t nothing ‘til it’s played online, you can pop someone from the other side of the country’s head unless you haven’t got broadband but don’t worry you can still have heaps of fun with this game. Just in multiplayer it really caps thing off like one of the modes 'Hunter' there's this weird ghost that runs around and if it touches you you die but if you shoot it it gets smaller so the point is to kill it, while trying not to get killed yourself by the other players but it sings like michael Jackson so when it gets near it's tense while you try to hide so it won't see and kill you but so you can see and kill it Genius.

Buy this game!!!! Buy it!!!! It’s brilliant Buy it!! (ahem) Well it’s …… rather good, yeah now I don’t seem mad, oops!
A superb game that’s worth buying like I said above!!! Yeah not crazy Not Crazy.
