In September 1st 2011, I got a game called Mario and Yoshi (Yoshi in other countries) for the 3DS Ambassador Promotion. At first, I thought that this was going to be another great game by Nintendo. Sadly, I was wrong.
The rules of Mario and Yoshi is to match the enemy block with another to get rid of them. The enemies are Goomba, Piranha Plant, Blooper and a Boo. Yoshi Egg Shells will also fall and give you bonus points if you match them up. If the blocks overflow, then it's game over so be careful!!
The game only has single player and multi-player. In single player, you can select which type of game you want. There is A-Type, which is basically endless mode, which tests you on how far you can go without messing up and B-Type, which is the same as A-Type but it is timed and it shows a cutscene in the end of a level with Mario riding Yoshi to a certain item and eating it along with the results. Multi-player mode lets a friend tag along as Luigi to see who gets the highest score.
To be brutally honest with you, I really don't like this game at all. It is very limited in modes, the music is quite boring and the overall gameplay is uninteresting as well. It is a very boring game and I do not see why it was put on the E-Shop channel as it does not hold up well as a good NES game compared to titles like Balloon Fight, Super Mario Bros and Donkey Kong. This is the worst puzzle game I have ever played so far as well as being the worst Nintendo game I have ever played.
If you haven't played this game or you did not get the game from the 3DS Ambassador Promotion back in 2011, then I suggest you steer clear from this game. Do not buy it on Wii Shop Channel or Nintendo E-Shop and do not buy a copy online! At least ask a friend to rent the game or let them borrow their 3DS if they have it. The game isn't worth £4.49/500 Wii Points!! You are better off with other puzzle games like Tetris Attack, Yoshi's Cookie, Tetris or Dr Mario.
