Yoshi’s story is not a game that can be compared to other games that it could have been: Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. I think everyone had high hopes for this game, thinking it would be Super Mario World 3. Unfortunately it doesn’t come close. It’s not a BAD game per se, but it is nothing compared to any great platformer out there, and that is sad, because it is a Nintendo published Mario Title: it was supposed to be good! It’s short, very short (only 6 main levels), although there are different paths and variations you can take. The whole game can be completed in a little over an hour. There is little or no depth, and the music is forgettable. The graphics are kinda nice, and playful, but that is about it. This game screams of laziness, and it seems like it was rushed out the door. It was such a disappointment when it came out, and now, it is just an insignificant game.
There are so many better games of this type out there, there is really no reason to play it, unless you are a Yoshi fan. Even then, you should rent it first, because everything there is to do in this game, can be done in a day, and you probably won’t ever want to do it again. Overall, it’s not terrible, but everything else is better.
