Ever since Yoshi starred in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, fans have been eager to play the next Yoshi game. Yoshi’s story is not that game fans were waiting for. Many people had high hopes for this game because it was Yoshi’s big adventure on the N64 but sadly, it is just disappointing. This game doesn’t even come close. The game is not that bad but it is just way too short. In theory, you only have to play 6 levels to beat the game. The main objective of the game is to get through the level and collect 30 fruit. Sounds easy. It is easier doing it than saying it. There are fruits scattered everywhere. The game does actually change it up a bit by giving you more points if you collect Yoshi’s favorite fruits or collect 30 melons but it seems more of a scavenger hunt. It’s fun using different Yoshi’s but they all do the same thing and the only difference is the color and their favorite fruit. This is an extremely short game and you can beat it in less than a hour and beat all the levels in less than a hour and a half. This game screams of laziness, and it seems like it was rushed out the door. It was such a disappointment when it came out, and now, it is just an insignificant game.
There are so many better games of this type out there, there is really no reason to play it, unless you are a Yoshi fan. Even then, you should rent it first, because everything there is to do in this game, can be done in a day, and you probably won’t ever want to do it again. Overall, it’s not terrible, but everything else is better.
