This story is colorful and adorable, and a bit dry in many parts.

Yoshi has always been a very charming (well I guess cute would fit the picture, but lets just say he rocks) character that has always been a great addition to the mario universe. And the release of the game yoshi's island sparked a new part of him that made him rock even more, but at the same time, the new ''version'' of this game is still okay, but you would have to wonder if this came out of a babys storybook. oh well, anyway. Yoshi's story takes place in telling a story about how the yoshi's had a run in with Kamek and his toadies before the whole baby mario thing. the game progresses along with you controlling a few different colored yoshi's that have to save themselves from being carried of by those infernal toadies. To do this, you have eggs you can lob at the damn things. Just like in Yoshis island, but your life is now represented by a flower circle, when you are damaged, it loses a petal, if the petals shrink to nothing, the toadies come after you, if they get you, itsgame over. Same thing happens if you fall in a pit. Of course the formula is simple. And the levels themselves are acually a little fun, but the whole game will rush by very fast. Which is good and bad. The game is adorable and very touching, but the game is NOT always a thrill to play, but the first few minutes are promising. You will probably find this game to be very easy, and the pop-up book setup is imaginitive, but in the end when you kick their ass and everything, you will wonder if you still have time to beat it again. Overall, yoshi's story is fun and rich in storytelling, but you have to wonder if this was a bit dry of a story for a prequel.
