A bit too adorable

With this being a follow up to the awesome Yoshi's Island for the Super Nintendo, it's disappointing to see that Yoshi's Story is well, disappointing.

The game really takes away alot from what made Yoshi's Story great. One being Baby Mario may have been annoying as hell in Yoshi's Island, but it added an original type of health for Yoshi to watch out for. Thie one you have a flower with pedals as a health bar and one hit from anything will already split it in half. It would've been alot more easier if they just had the right amount of pedals on it as opposed to a group of pedals surrounding a flower.

Second, the world is just too cheery and happy. Not to say Yoshi's Island wasn't, but that game featured a different and large variety of enemies and game design, but this one just mostly features the same type and lack of variety in enemies and gameplay. Instead the game entirely acts as too easy with only four levels (out of 16) needed to complete the whole game to the ending.

It tries to add replay value by getting different colored Yoshi's and a better score, but Yoshi's Island made everything better and this is just a huge downgrade. I love Yoshi as much as the next guy, but this game just suffers from too many downgrades that it doesn't make it worth playing.
