pretty bad even for Yu-Gi-Oh!

User Rating: 6 | Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters International 2 GBA
The extremely popular Japanese anime Yu-Gi-Oh! has appeared on every 2nd generation console and also on the Game Boy Color and the Playstation but unfortunately none of the many Yu-Gi-Oh! games have been anything special. Now with the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! title Yu-Gi-Oh! 7 Trails of Glory: World Championship 2005 unfortunately nothing has changed.

At first 7 Trails of Glory seems like it is a pretty good game with some pretty impressive features but unfortunately that stops after about a hour of gameplay. The game never really picks up at all. At the beginning of the game you start of with 3000 DP(Duel Points) which is essentially like money. You get to choose out of 3 decks but the cool thing is that unlike pretty much all the other Yu-Gi-Oh! games instead of choosing out of a Red, Blue or Green deck you can choose out of a Seto Kaiba deck, Yugi deck or a Joey deck. Each deck contains exactly the same cards as you will find in the Kaiba, Yugi or Joey deck you can buy in real life. After you choose one of the three decks you will have 1000 DP left and are free to spend it on booster packs or save it or what ever you want. Another cool thing is that you can have up to 20 decks. But besides that tehre really aren't any more good features.

The thing about 7 Trails of Glory is that there really isn’t any story line. essentially all you do is compete in the weekly weekend tournament until your good enough to enter the Kaiba Corp Tournament. The games story may seem alright for the first 20 minutes or so but after a while you will find yourself skipping days just to get to the weekendTournament.

The graphics in 7 Trails Of Glory are pretty good. Though there aren’t any special effects or anything the graphics are pretty good considering it’s a Gameboy Advance game. The sound isn’t really that special. In fact the sound can be quite annoying sometimes, though thankfully that can be solved by turning you Gameboy Advance to mute.

Overall I would say that this game isn’t even worth renting. If you have a friend that has this game you may consider borrowing this game from him but otherwise there really isn’t any need to play this game. If you’re a hardcore Yu-Gi-Oh! fan than you could consider renting this game but that’s it. I wouldn’t recommend you buy this game at all. If you must have a Yu-Gi-Oh! game try Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards or Yu-Gi-Oh! World Wide Edition.
