It's ok....not great, but somewhere in the middle.
User Rating: 6.5 | Yu-Gi-Oh! Shin Duel Monsters (PSOne Books) PS
Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories isn't too bad of a game. It isn't that much of a departure from the series, and as a game....well....it isn't much of a departure there either. Storyline : Basically....You're the Pharoah. You're this great duelist, who is sheltered....blah blah blah. You end up in the courtyard and meet your friends....the ancestors of Jou and Anzu (Joey and Tea...*shudder*.....in the dub). You duel...have a jolly ol' time until high priest Seto shows up. You duel, have some fun...blah blah blah....great evil is unleashed. Pharoah is betrayed by Seto, ends up in the present. You duel every major character from the Duelist Kingdom Arc plus Shadi and Isis...end up back in Egypt...duel Seto, great evil...you win...blah blah blah. I give it a 6. Game Play : It's basically the TCG game, without a ton of magic cards. In fact the magic cards in the game will save your ass a few times....but that's besides the point. The bosses get REEEAAALLLL cheap by the end of the game...so unless you have a gameshark/codebreaker....good luck. It's the card game though...I'll give it a 7. Graphics/Sound - Short and sweet : Graphics are ok....sound blows. 6 for graphics, 5 for sound. Replay Value : There is some....getting all the cards in the game, etc. I'll give it a 7. Forbidden Memories is pretty good, and it's worth a look if you're a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan. If you're not...reduce the score by a point.
