Yugioh has been a guilty pleasure of mine for quite some time

User Rating: 8.4 | Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX: Mezase Duel King! GBA
Yu-gi-oh GX is the next generation of Yu-Gi-Oh! Let's see how it holds up to its predecessors.

Story-Everyone knows that GBA Expert Yu-Gi-Oh! games don't have good stories and this game is no exception. The original cast of Yugi, Joey, and Kaiba have been replaced by the cast of Jaden, Chumley and Syrus. No more saving the world, now you are at school and learning how to be the best. Personally, I view this as a downgrade, but an unbiased opinion would say that this works out nicely. It works for this kind of game and so it shall be acceptable to most people. It follows the show and the characters are very like their show counterparts. 7/10

Controls-The same as any Yu-Gi-Oh! game. It is not better and it is not worse. There is the little problem of being unable to undo moves, but that is hardly a reason to lower the score of this particular aspect of the game. 9/10.

Graphics and Interface-Best so far in deck screen scrolling and game interface. Field changes are nice, but not annoying and not non-existent like in other Yu-Gi-Oh! games. When it comes to deck editing you will be amazed by how sophisticated it is. 10/10

Sounds-Good at first, but then it gets repetitive. Nothing new with Yu-Gi-Oh games and not really surprising when you think about it. 4/10

Gameplay-Here is what can make or break a game. The game is amazing. It is better than any Yu-Gi-Oh! game yet in terms of gameplay. You have the characters saying their lines against you in fights making you cringe when they are about to unleash their mightiest cards. There are 1200 cards which is alright i guess, but you'll be angry when you find out some cards are left out... again. Konami doesn't listen to you my friends, and they'll keep holding back cards just to spite you. You don't matter. This game has otherwise solid gameplay, except that the computer cheats in a way that you won't know until you play the game quite a bit. The computer has Destiny Draw. That's right, from Duelist of the Roses. They don't tell you, but it is there. The computer will save it's butt with a card whenever it is backed into a corner. 40/50

Replay Value- It's a Yu-Gi-Oh! game. It has no end. Perfect score 10/10
