Yu-gi-Oh the Duelist of the Roses is hard at first because of the weak starter decks but, fun when you get decent cards.

(+) like 800 cards in the game, custom duel mode can be very fun after you get decent cards, the music doesn't seem to get annoying.

(-) weak starter decks, hard difficulty in story mode, card winning system is based on luck, graphics seem a bit dated.

When my brother got this game I thought it would be a fun game to play but, this game was changed which makes it practically unplayable at first. In the beginning of this game you are summoned by this wizard thing (forgot its name) to collect the rose cards because the dark side plans to use them for power. You get a choice if you want to join the dark side or stay on the red roses side before you choose your side the wizard lets you pick a deck all of these decks you can pick are way too weak for you to progress through story mode with I still wonder how I beat the first duelist with my pitiful stater deck.

Basically this means that if you want a somewhat decent deck you have to face your own deck on custom duel mode to get cards this mode can be just as hard as story mode because the AI has an edge against you if you don't know any merges for the monsters because they will fuse all the time which makes chances of even winning against your own deck very slim. When you do get better card and learn some of the fuses winning can become easy to achieve. After you win a custom duel press three buttons to see what you won you can win good cards and you can win pitiful cards it depends on how many card you use to win. >

The graphics in this game were just about average I found some of the monsters attack moves on this game to be funny. The complexity added to this game was most likely the biggest downfall in this game. The tutorial is like 40 minutes long and you watch to learn it is not interactive at all. Even after you watch the tutorial unless you are a huge Yu-Gi-Oh! you will lost likely need to read a little of the booklet.

I would not recommend this game to those that are not willing to stick with a game that seems bad at first because you need to play this game for a while for it to hook you.
