Pains me to say "Dark Tournament" is anything but "Spirited" Eric Gordon
It takes quite a long time to unlock them all as players are required to beat "Dark Tournament Plus" as well as a Token game. The CPU at easy could sometimes be challenging finding the "Knife Edge Death Match" and the final battle with Toguro the most challenging fights.
Even on an easy setting you find the computer blocking the more basic attacks forcing you into battles where even the blue ogre character could prove challenging if you are caught unprepared.
The graphics for this 2004 title are ambitious in its style yet lacking as other fighting games have much better graphics. It is sad to say it's anything more than a decent anime game, which is something it should be proud of in this day and age. The game stays true to the voice acting and battle settings which is a welcome addition for die hard fans. the music was repetitive and forgettable leaving th final battle anticlimactic as the final battle in the series left my heart racing.
What would save this title are better graphics and battles beyond the Dark Tournament and more bonus content to add more replay value in the hope of giving this game equal footing to other fighting games. I bought the game for about 8 dollars, which is the most you should pay as it hurts me as a fan to admit.
