Zidane Football Generation works but don't expect it to be immersive or addictive in any context.
Zidane Football generation performs just about the most basic actions possible in a footballing sim. You play as whatever nation you want in either a single match against the A.I. or in a tournament against or nations. You start the match and your little, almost blobs of men walk onto the pitch and kick the ball around. You get a bit of football music as this happens...the same bit that you will be listening to in 10 minutes and for the hour after that. Your men are just about the same as the music. They can shoot, they can pass, they can tackle and that's about as far as everything goes. How they actually perform these actions is a different matter altogether...
When you finally get control of the guy whos nearest to the opponent with the ball hes already gone past you and when you do go to tackle him you have about a one in eight chance that you will have any effect whatsoever.
If you do somehow get the ball you then go through the opposite rendition and you can pass as much as you like and shoot as much as you like without any effort at all.
All this funnily enough gets a bit boring after a while and after your first 10 minute match you might need a rest. A permanent rest. Because although the games few options do offer a bit of replayability the actual game itself kills you if you try.
Altogether, I would be embarrased to have my name on this catastrophe of a game and i finally conclude that i would rather sit in a car and try counting passing trees than play this.
