So Zoids Assault is just a little decent, but not even close to an average game.

Visuals:
The visuals for Zoids Assault are for a game that came out in 2008 look pretty decent and they not that bad to look at, but they are not that great to look at either and in the gameplay part of the visuals they are a bit dated and bland, but some of the lack luster visual effects are just plain bland and are in general decent to look at and will not strain your eyes to much and because you can and will be able to make out the writing and in the game and in the cut scenes. But still with the gameplay visuals where you have your friendly Mech's that are called Zoids all have distinct feature's for them and kind of look like some sort of beast like Mech's well giant like wild Cat Mech, Rhino like Mech and even one Mech seem to be look like a Triceratops Dino like Mech which looked alright and cool but when you face-off against an enemy AI and their Zoids look just like your and your Friendly AI Zoids it be comes a little dull to look at the same Zoids as you well the different one you get to see is that Dino like Zoids. So now I'll talk a bit about the cut scene and well if you want to call what this game call's a cut scene which take's place after each act in the game and even though I found the cut scene's a little lame, but pretty cool at the same time cause the cut scene's are like in some kind of comic style with no movement at all in it what so ever no mouth movement, no leg and arm movement and no head movement nothing at all and regardless of these issues the cut scenes were still pretty and I kind of thought they were just fine and was a nice change of pace from all the over done cut scenes from other games. So in short for the visuals for this game are just plain decent to look at and they are not too good but they are not all bad either and are just plain decent and I'll leave it at that.

Audio:
The audio for Zoids Assault is just good and just bad, so I'll start with the good and they are the sound effect's of the Zoids movement's are pretty cool sounding and the firing of the Zoids weapons are probably the only thing that is good about the in-game sound effect and along with the Zoids movements which are pretty cool to hear. Now the voice over work is part good and part horrible with the game being translated to English from Japanese cause this game is based on a anime T.V show from so the voice over work is good is some areas of the game like in the cut scenes which are like a comic book style that just has the voice actor talking and like I said is good for most parts especially when the main girl who is talking which is great to hear but some of the voice work for politicians and military advisers that she is trying to tell the story or trying to get help prevent a full out war between two neighbouring countries we're not that great at all and if my memory is correct she is explaining what happen to the Mace squad of Zoids, but the voice work for her is great and for the random voices that cut her off from time to time in these cut scene's are not that great and in fact most of them are lame, and their is some voice over work in the gameplay part of the game and it happens right at the beginning of the mission's and during when you lose your Mace leader or even when you lose all your Zoids. So in short for the audio for this game is the it just decent in some areas of the game and it is just hard to listen to and it might have been the only thing that is any good in this game, so it is just plain decent.

Gameplay:
The gameplay for Zoids Assault is a strategy-turn-based/ role-playing-game which is based on a hit anime series from Japan and if you are not familiar with the anime series don't worry I'm sure you are not the only one and most of you probably did not know this game existed and well it does. So you take command of the fearsome war machines known as Zoids and you are Mace squad, and elite tactical unit sent behind enemy lines as a covert response to the explosion that has obliterated your base. in the midst of a cold war, you are your country's only hope in a deadly battle that it doesn't even know it's fighting. The combat for this game is a little shotty at best like when you are in combat and you assign and when your Zoids are in range of a attack the camera will go into an awkward position so you can't see what is going on so yeah the camera angle's suck in this game and the gameplay itself is pretty hard because you have to really think about how to apply your strategy in your mission's and chapter's. You can customize your mech Zoid to maximize the deadly force of your Zoids and you can upgrade with upgradable weaponry, armor from what the game give's you or from down-loadable content that you can get from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

You can utilize specialized tactics and you can rattle the opposing enemies systems with electromagnetic pulse and wreak havoc on them with indirect fire and these these can be pretty heavy hits when trying to tke down the opposing Zoids. You can unit your Zoids with the unit support system where you can master the intricacies of the Scan Gauge a system that allows you and you allies to support each other's attacks, which is a very helpful feature in this game cause this game in some part of this game is pretty hard and can be a little boring at times for so many reason. This game is a pretty lengthy game which it should keep you busy for hours and which it should with it being a bit hard and with the strategy that is behind it. So in short for this game's gameplay is it just decent and is pretty hard and a bit boring from time to time.

Overall:
So the overall point for Zoids Assault is that it is to damn hard to recommend and with it having a $19.99 or less price tag at the moment and even with a cheaper used price for around $12.99 or so and with the game's decent visual, decent audio and is just a subpar and pretty hard gameplay I might be able to say to most of you is to pass on it and with other games that are quite better then this game in every aspect of it and around the same price, but if you would like to try this game out it won't hurt because of the price tag and if you are in to hard Strategy-Turn-Based/Role-Playing-Game's and this is a bit of a crap shoot of a game.
