Nothing satisfies your zombie cravings quite like this old zombie throwback. One of the best games you'll play.

User Rating: 9.8 | Zombies Ate My Neighbors SNES
Zombies Ate my Neighbors sets you in the shoes in the average teenage girl (Julia), or average 3d movie glasses wearing boy (Zeke) of your choice to go up against an entire world full of Zombies. You'll find yourself in backyards, neighborhoods, malls, underground caves, rocky dessert landscapes, castles, football fields, factories, and tons more. You'll also encounter many different and quite original baddies, not like your average zombie game. Of course there is your occasional zombie, that will blindly come after you, ever so often break out of a grave to surprise you; but that's not all, this cast includes a slew of enemies: chainsaw massacre guys, the Tommy doll (which breaks out of cereal boxes while you are in the mall level), aliens, undead quarterbacks, giant babies, mutant worms, underwater lizards, giant ants, mad scientists, and definitely many more. The premise of the game is to simply save your near by neighbors before they get taken out by these zombies. Which you think you'd need some pretty heavy firepower in doing so right? Actually no, they decide to use an arsenal of squirt guns, 6 packs, popsicles, or your occasional fork and knives (since when did dinner wear become so popular?); also for weapons too, just ridiculous amounts of them.

The presentation in Zombies Ate My Neighbors was of the best SNES graphics and sound at it time. With bright and well animated cartoon like overhead styled graphics, that really brings out the comical parts of throwing 6 packs of soda like a hand grenade at packs of vicious zombies. The sounds of the game really bring this all together too, each enemy has its own grunts, screams, hysterical laughs, or even the classic chainsaw sound effect. All of which will scare the ba-jesus out of you, for most of the enemies, just hearing them coming let's you know they are after you and they're coming fast, enough to scare anyone considering the difficulty of the game. The music is the final element that brings the game together as a real, B-movie, cartoon, zombie killing adventure. With the most eerie, and one of the most well produced musical scores you'll hear in any game, even with its 16bit nature.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors is one to be remembered by everyone, not just fans, but anyone who owns an SNES. The time and effort put into crafting enough weapons and enemies to keep the game fresh and new for over 50 levels is unmatched by any game. With picture perfect execution, this game is apart of the top elite with the SNES, and should last you years to come.
