Assassin's Creed Unity Players Will Get Free DLC in Wake of Rocky Launch

I think this would be great if they actually give us the physical game and not a digital download....at least it will show that although ubisoft made a horrible business decision which impacted us as gamers...but changed certain outlooks people have on the quality they expect from an Assassin's Creed game.

Well.... Now that I downloaded my 40g patch.... You know the fourth one they released to "fix" this mess called a game... Can I skip a free game and get my money back?

And the DLC will be broken and buggy as well

This is why you don't buy a game when it's first released.

I want to sincerely apologize, but I won't because we'll be making the same mistakes again. We at Ubisoft are battle hardened and stubborn enough to not learn from the mistakes that we made with WatchDogs earlier this year. It is our motto to dupe gamers and cheat them out of their money while we rake in big profits through broken promises.

Well I got it a week late because I ordered direcly by Ubi, but when I got it I did buy the season pass (mainly for the platformer). Getting a free game after no really getting the hugest problems is actually pretty nice for me, probably going with the Crew

Wish Ubisoft will hurry up and give me a key for The Crew. There's only a few days left for release and I want the preorder items.

Good Ubisoft, manned up, accepted their mistake and are attempting to right it.

Almost wish I had bought it for the free Far Cry 4, but then again, they could've given nothing free, and I would've been having more regrets.

This game was a serious slap in the face and kick in the balls for long-time AC fans. Bugs, glitches, broken promises none withstanding, UbiSoft's decision to turn the latest AC game into a microtransaction fest was the first of their greater sins. The second was in actually releasing an unfinished game: I played it for a week after launch and you still couldn't link ACU to AC Initiates; and Club Competitions still weren't active, so no kitting out in a full set of Legendary gear.

Is their apology be enough? For me, no; but it's a step in the right direction. I'm so glad I rented the game instead of buying it as I had originally planned.

It should have been free to begin with. And who wants DLC for a broken game?

Now that's ridiculous. There was enough times in gaming history that a game arrived full of bugs, most of the time we don't even get an apology. Now you get free dlc or a complete full-priced game as an apology, and everyone is, "yeah it was planned beforehand, what an assholes". I don't understand you. I for one, find it pretty generous, even if they fucked the launch up.

Compare to what other companies do,you can't deny its a pretty good apology.

But still I heard the patch was released for PS4 on 26th. Did it make any difference guys??

Bought Unity Gold through Steam. Will Ubisoft provide me a Steam key for a game or will it only be through Uplay. Preordered The Crew on Steam so would like to know ASAP so I can click the refund button. I only play through Steam since all my friends are on that. I like to chat with them when playing so Uplay only is not an option.

Is the free DLC only available to people who already bought it or will it be available to anyone who buys it in the future also??

Huh, I had my issues with Unity (mostly crashing during and before Co-OP) but I've had a fun time with it. Free game for all that? I'll take it and use caution when pre ordering games in the future. Dragon Age is pretty buggy too but no one is talking about that.

i heard this game sucks. no hidden blades or anything and you are an amateur assassin throughout the game rather than a pro like in the other games....

after playing black flag which was an incredible game, this is very disappointing. this had flop written all over it anyway, i knew paris would make for a boring game coz paris is the most boring place iv ever been. think ill steer clear from ass creed from now on.

I'll bet companies figure "free DLC apology" into their budgets now.

They can release shoddy games quickly, apologize with a "free DLC" that should have been content on the disk anyway, and sheep will eat it up as sincere.
