Battlefield 3 Limited Edition details leaked?

No online wargame ever come close to the large scale feel of BF2 (other than ARMA2)where tactics and taking your time really mattered in a game.The real BATTLEFIELD series is very different from the BAD COMPANY series.The console generation that only know the BFBC spinoffs are in for one hell of a treat!(Battlefield 2 remake that came out for the 360 doesnt count..it wasnt anything like the PC version and sucked.)In the traditional Battlefield,the characters can go prone,there are even larger maps with more types of vics such as fixed wing aircraft and boat types.Lots of fun to be had indeed.I dont see any reason to play any other FPS upon its release. As long as BF stays away from the COD style gameplay ill always be a fan. I could see a future when COD could drift more torward the BF side of things as thier fire burns out.I think they could start opening up thier level environments,,adding bullet drop,,vics,,and many things that slowdown gameplay to a more realistic level in some kind of COD spinoff.Then i might check it out. Until then im BF all the way.

@Frostyballoon What you saying? I believe there are much more Modern and Futuristic shooters. Not to say that only a few of the already few WW2 have good multiplayer. Call of Duty 5 and Battlefield 1942 and 1943.

@kais112 If that turns out to be the player count on consoles then I definitely won't be buying BF3. EA/DICE can go play in rush hour traffic.

@solidsnake_cs WW2 has been done over and over and over again. there is like maybe 5 modern war games but 36 WW2 games..i think the world is sick of WW2

@Konviktion No doubt there will be another BC game. BC2 is hugely popular, but I would guess they're going to give BF3 at least 6 months of release time before they announce BC3. They might be able to pull off another game or two with the frostbite engine before we start whining for improvements.

So they have DLC content made over half a year before the game is even released? Unless this can be modded, I'm going to be skipping this. EA and DICE have been making pretty terrible games of late, only way I'm buying this is if the community is going to be able to make their own material.

Rather than call the Limited Edition version, "Limited Edition", why don't they just call the normal version "limited Content" with small print saying "This version has had its content deliberately limited in order to make you feel as though you are missing out and to make you feel you need to buy the more expensive version and/or DLC which will be release shortly"

@Sirbobislost Yeah i remember, it was called Armored Fury, second to last dlc i believe. There where some good maps in that map pack. But BF3 is going to have a full campaign. If that is going to take place on US soil like MW2, and homefront. It wouldnt be very original.

Indeed. Bad Company 2 is a good game, and as a good multiplayer indeed. But Battlefield2 still as a better flow of the game. Its more balanced and the maps are better designed for multiplayer skirmishs. Its still my favourite game of the Battlefield series, altough i missed Battlefield1942.

@Zooner1399 Exactly BC2 was good but MP wise it just wasn't as good as BF2 before BC fans start thumbing me down go and play BF2 on the PC and you'll see what I mean

@diedstah BF2s 1st addon pack (I don't mean the special forces one that came out before I consider that an expansion because you got a ton of stuff at a bargin price although the addons were only £6 new better then new COD or halo map packs) added 3 or 4 US style maps and vehicles which were rather good

Yawn... show me more than three capture points to a map that aren't in a straight line, and maybe I'll be interested. Otherwise wake me up when Red Orchestra drops.

@Elgranpimp I think the main reason they put the extra content in the limited edition is to force people to buy it new. kind of like VIP in BC2. not a bad idea if you think about it

Omg. Looking forward for BF2 kind of experience. Best game I've played online, tons and tons of fun. I loved BC2 too, but I hope the Rush mode is gone and the classic Battlefield-way-of-play get back with insane graphics and fun as never gameplay. Don't screw around DICE.

@k2theswiss: if they do like they did with Medal of Honor you won't be paying extra money for the content, its just to encourage people to buy it when it comes out. so tbh after I play the Battlefield 3 Beta when it comes out ill make my choice cause if its good and I could get a free DLC sure why not?

2011 is already shaping up to be an awesome year for games. Uncharted, Gears of War 3, Battlefield 3 and lots more I cant name off the the top of my head!! Those are the tittles im really looking forward to.

Your PC elitism dies with you, Maverick. A good developer makes the game for the PC and gives that port to the consoles. The PC gets 64 players, so what more do you want? Helicopter flying and jet flying to be impossible unless you have an elaborate joystick?

"No Extra charge" makes me think that it WILL be paid DLC at some point
