A South African retailer has indicated 2K Games plans to re-release the BioShock series for current consoles.

Raru, an online outlet that also previously leaked the Greninja, Jigglypuff, and Splatooon Amiibo, has listed The BioShock Collection for release on November 27 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

As of yet, 2K Games has not officially announced the title or indicated any intention to re-release the games through teases. GameSpot has contacted the publisher for a statement.

The fate of BioShock has been unclear since February 2014, when Irrational Games, developer of the BioShock series, was effectively shut down.

Cofounder Ken Levine, meanwhile, revealed he's starting a new endeavour for Irrational Games owner Take-Two Interactive.

"I am winding down Irrational Games as you know it," Levine said at the time. "I’ll be starting a smaller, more entrepreneurial endeavour at Take-Two."

Although details on the project have not yet been revealed, Levine has said it will run on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4.

Narrative is a key focus of the project, and Levine has expressed his love of how Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor offers a flexible narrative.

"Two years ago, I started thinking about how to build a system to let story be as variable as gameplay and still be awesome in the way story can be awesome," he has said in statements discussing the new project.

"Could you have characters, conflicts, and dialogue that could end not in 100 states, not in 1,000, but in X to the Y states? Goodbye linear, hello geometric!"

He continued: "And that's the new big thing that my colleagues and I have been working on at our yet-unnamed new studio. In March, I gave a talk at the Game Developers Conference about some of our ideas. We called it 'Narrative Legos.' The goal is to make a flexible narrative that is broadly replayable and strongly adaptive to player choice."

Cool looking forward to replaying the two, and the only two in existence, again: Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite.

@Dark_Wr4ith: Bioshock 2 is the red headed step child of the three. Bioshock 1 was loved so much, no game could've been met fan expectations.

It's like what Half-Life 3 might be.

And with all that said... Bioshock 2 is my favorite, then Bioshock, then Infinite.

@Dark_Wr4ith: Bioshock 2 is pretty great as well. Obviously, when compared to the others it's not the shining star, but it's head and shoulders above most games I've played.

@cwv_rebirth: The combat was much harder and enjoyable in the second. The first was OK if you've never played System Shock 2, otherwise it's just a poor copy. The moment I stepped out of the batisphere I knew Atlas was lying and would betray me (he was the Dr. Polito of this game).

@cwv_rebirth: Yes the second Bioshock game, Bioshock Infinite, was really good. I concur.

:P

But in seriousness, Bioshock 2 wasn't terrible. But it really added nothing to the franchise and attempted to staple on a tangled mess of a plot onto the existing game. It has nowhere near the charm and narrative of the previous titles and outright ignores some of lore and setup from Bioshock. These are just some of the reasons I believe it's a game better forgotten.

@Dark_Wr4ith: (imo) Bioshock 2 added lots to the franchise and its charm and narritive is just as amazing as the others and it folllows the lore and setup perfectly. its a game that deserves to be remebered. it also has way better emotion and moral choice than the other two bioshocks. also its plot was not a mess. its very underrated and (imo) the best bioshock

@Dark_Wr4ith: It wasn't terrible. It just certainly wasn't amazing. It fixed all of the few problems BioShock 1 had, with great gameplay and new areas of Rapture. The story was just blah.

@kelis_98: If you say so. There hardly was a story in BioShock 2 and it was just a redo of Andew Ryan with an opposing viewpoint. The game was good, but the story had nothing to do with making it good.

@ughz: Well to each their own, if you didn't enjoy the story that's fine, but to me it was amazing (the best part about the game , Imo). To be honest, it does annoy me when people say that Infinite is the real 2 when, (Imo at least) it isn't. I also don't feel it should be forgotten (far from it actually), but to each their own.

This is an instant buy...I've been wanting to go back and play Infinite, I was even considering PS Now in order to do it. The second was was ok, but still pretty good. The first and third are among my favorite games of the last generation.

The amount of re-releases and remasters this generation is getting ridiculous. Compensation for a rather lackluster selection of original games?

There are great games available now for all platforms.

Man I really can't stand this series I've played the 1st one twice and always get bored half way through and quit. I played Infinite a few years ago and it was ok but then my brother beat it and I got to see that god awful ending and was like **** that seriously the stupidest ending to anything I had ever witnessed.

Goodness another idiot child who bashes and hates on COD for no reason. I don't even know what the point in replying to you is you're probably to infantile to even understand what my response it suffices to say that Bioshock Infinite's ending was abysmal it was like playing an M.Night Shamalyn movie.

@Marky360: Yet here you are, on the website, typing another pointless reply. Attempting fruitlessly to defend your statement, the consensus being your comment was ignorant and you have no taste, in the first place.

Step 1. Calls BioShock unoriginal, boring, and badly written

Step 2. Defends Call of Duty without having the gall to actually use defensible reasons why it isn't terrible.

Step 3. Compares BioShock to M. Night Shamallamalan, the most predictable hackney joke of a writer in the 20th century.

How quaint.

@ughz:

Why do I need to have a reason why Call of Duty isn't terrible when you don't even have a reason why it is? Are you just another one of the brain washed hipster sheep that think if they hate on something popular it will make them looks cool?News flash it doesn't.

Also no where did I say Bioshock was unoriginal or badly written just that the ending to Infinite was really really stupid or maybe this is how you secretly feel about the series and you just let it slip. Whatever the case may be you're going to have to get off the internet if you can't handle dissenting opinions from your own.

Yea I said Bioshock Infinite has a bad ending and the original is boring so what of it why do you care that I don't like it? Did you? If you did then there you go that's all that should matter to you but all of this name calling non-sense and your weak attempts at insulting my intelligence are just unnecessary and quite frankly rather juvenile. Just remember not everyone is going to have the same opinion as you do and it's ok. Have a nice day.

@Marky360: I have hundreds of reasons why CoD is awful. The burden isn't on me to explain why it is terrible when you started out the discussion going "lul hipster calling cod terrible lul", without any reason why it isn't. I'll happily explain why it's trash.

I don't care, at all, what you don't like, because you have no taste. I care that you libel games widely recognized as being masterpieces or excellent games, and by extension the people that like them.

Well hey man if you don't like the series and think it's trash then that's cool it's your opinion me I just got into it and thought AW was pretty good and I had fun playing it with my friends and Blops 3's beta was fun as well.

You don't like it that's totally fine but what I don't understand is why you seem to hate me for liking it and furthermore for disliking Bioshock I mean don't you disagree with your friends on games sometimes? Do you call your friends opinions ignorant and tell them they are tasteless when they don't agree on the games you like?

@whatsazerg: Nah. I don't really think anyone can argue against a collection of last gen games for the same price as a single new release. The problem, in my view, is when they "remaster" a single game and release it for $50.

That said, I feel there have been a disproportionately high number of "remasters" on the current generation of consoles (especially considering they haven't been out for a full two years yet).

@Yomigaeru: I think the only remaster that has been worth the price tag (so far) is Gears of War: UE. It was literally built from the ground up for the Xbox One.

Now that's what I call a remaster.

MCC, Uncharted Collection, and collection of those sorts are definitely more warranted than one straight up port.

@silversix_: maybe they do this to help fund there new games i imagine only a small portion of a studio is assigned to remaster an old game for a new system while most work on the new games
