Conker's Bad Fur Day Gets a Sequel of Sorts in Project Spark DLC

The Conker the Squirrel-focused content for Project Spark that was announced last year will be released on April 23, developer Team Dakota announced today.

When it was revealed at last year's E3, it was unclear exactly what kind of Conker content the game would receive. It turns out there will be both the expected--tools for Spark players to make their own Conker games--and a new playable story, called Conker's Big Reunion.

Big Reunion is described an "ongoing game series," the first episode of which will be available on April 23. It's set 10 years after Conker's Bad Fur Day and "finds Conker in need of reconnecting with his old friends. As you can imagine, things don't go according to plan." This will involve, in part, "familiar characters and challenges" and some kind of crossover with fellow Spark content Champion's Quest and Crossroads.

Conker will be voiced by original voice actor (and former Rare designer) Chris Seavor. You can get a little taste of what's in the store in the video above or the screenshot gallery below.

As far as game-building tools go, the Conker Builder Pack has "200-300 assets" spanning characters, props, music, and sound effects.

All of this content will be available for Spark on Xbox One and PC in a bundle or in separate Play and Create packs. Pricing has not yet been announced, nor do we know how often--or how many--new Big Reunion episodes will come out.

Windows 8.1? (shudders) Hopefully Windows 10 doesn't suck. I NEED more Conker... even if I have to create it myself.

All those diy games [frameworks?], make me think that developers are at the point where they have no clue anymore how to penetrate the market, so they just say "we have no clue what u want anymore. Here; here's our framework. Just do it yourself"

<< LINK REMOVED >> It was the better version in terms of multiplayer content if you ask me. You had several different modes you could play in it.

<< LINK REMOVED >> I was talking about the Xbox version not being as good in terms of multiplayer. Also, you are right about the N64 controller. Body Harvest had awkward controls because of the N64's three handed controller design.

*sigh*.... First, it was Battletoads being included into Shovel Knight. Now, it's Conker in Project Spark. Quit whoring out my childhood, MS, and give me some true sequels!

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> Actually, I enjoyed LBP on PS3. I'm curious how Project Spark would play out. My main issue is that I prefer to buy games with prepaid cards when it comes to digital titles, but I can't find any for Windows Live in my area.

Not sure what to think about this? I can't see it being in the same spirit as the original Conker. That seems a bit raunchy for Spark. Not sure why they don't do a Conker's Bad Fur Day HD remake. Not that reloaded crap we had on the original Xbox. That was bad. I'm talking original Conker - uncut and uncensored.

<< LINK REMOVED >> You can't get away with what you could in the 1990's. Take a look at Earthbound. K-A (an early version of E) on SNES, T on Wii U Virtual Console.

<< LINK REMOVED >> BFD was better, anyway. Live and Reloaded's animation was missing a lot of little nuances. Just wasn't as funny. The extra censorship also killed the game for me. Graphically, it was amazing, though. I honestly think L&R Conker looked better than Project Spark Conker does. The new design is truer to the original, but the L&R version had a LOT more detail.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Same, but replace L&R's Multiplayer with the original game's Vs modes and codes.
