Diablo 3 PS3/360 Saves Can Transfer to PS4 or Xbox One -- Your Choice

You can choose which of the new platforms to transfer your save to regardless of which last-gen console your save is on

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition players importing characters and saves from last-generation Diablo III can transition from a Sony or Microsoft system, reports Destructoid. This means you can either switch from Xbox 360 to the PlayStation 4, or from PlayStation 3 to Xbox One.

By linking an Xbox Live gamertag or a PSN ID to a Battle.net account, players can import their progress. However, saves can't be transferred between Xbox One and PS4. No reason for this restriction was mentioned, and there was no announcement of a PC-to-current-generation.

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition features the base game, the Reaper of Souls expansion, plus new achievements and trophies. The PS4 version will feature exclusive content based on The Last of Us and Shadow of the Colossus.

Any info as to whether you can import the demo save data from a ps3 to the full ps4 game? I'm pretty sure you could do that with the ps3 full game.

And does this mean ps3 users cant play with ps4 users online? :O

Im impressed, Blizzard has really put effort into turning this trainwreck around into a good game with lasting playability. A lot of current failures of gaming should learn from this.

Also a lot of current games would benefit from this save transition feature.

Confirmed. you need your save on HHD or on a USB. they did NOT keep track online like Rockstar did theirs so you are completely screwed with Blizzard.

That's cool of them. But Diablo 3 is a shadow of its predecessor's selves. I still play Diablo 1 on my PS3 and even though the controls bl0w it's got so much more "gravitas" and soul to it.

@xantufrog I hate to say it, but yea. I agree. I love diablo 3, I think its a fun game that continues the mythos I fell in love with, but diablo 1 is sitting in my blu-ray rw drive right now, I love that game.

You absolutely are correct that the gothic medieval horror of it carries such weight. I love getting to a point of just getting my but kicked so much just to find a shortcut back to town in the 5 level increments and then hearing that guitar over world song was always such a relief.

Diablo 2 is also a great game that I think did well to blend the weight of the first with the exploration of the larger world. 3 again is fun and I like it but it doesn't feel gritty and as real as the first 2.

Just after they came out with the update where they first added paragon levels, I played for maybe one more week after that then I have never touched diablo 3 since and never plan to again. The game is f*cking garbage, ladies and gents, don't waste money on a console version.

<< LINK REMOVED >> For most online games it makes more sense as I would imagine a lot of the data is stored in a non-platform-specific way, of course they won't want to allow it from one company's platform to the other.

For regular games where the save data is local or even if cloud it's still "native", well that's another story. It's work, how much depends on the game and platform of course, and for a lot of games, especially old ones, they won't want to put any resources towards it.

i might just start a brand new guy even tho im max lvl +60 but i think i have hacked armor that i didnt even know about... i hope they focus on the hackers in this game and get rid of that shit

Honestly, unless there's a game breaking bug it probably won't recieve content updates in the future in line with the pc version. BUT, considering how much better D3 is now compared to where it was, I'm ok with it not getting updated content-wise.

@jako998 longevity depends on how much you want to invest in the game. And yes,you can play local and online co-op with 3 friends/random people. With the UEE coming out in august you get 1 additional act and class to play through so Id say a good 20hrs if all you do is play through once but you will never reach level cap in only 1 playthrough. But then with the addition of Rifts runs etc you can easily go into the hundreds of hours. Also,if we eventually get the new patch 2.1 which introduces the treasure realm where Treasure Goblins go to when you fail to kill them and they escape through their portals + Greater rifts it will add even more content to the game. Theres also a brawling arena where you can go PvP with others.

What if I currently own the original on PS3, purchase the D3:UEE on PS3 on august 19th. Play for a long time but eventually decide to purchase a PS4 and the ps4 version of the UEE. Will I be able to transfer my UEE PS3 files to my PS4?

This game! This is the game I want really bad on my PS4! I cannot believe it's still under 3 weeks away! To long to wait however it will be great to transfer my Demon Hunter over from the PS3. A very nice feature, thanks Blizzard!

Way it works on PC is that the sentries appear where your mouse cursor is so they can be put where ever they are needed, for things like shielding your team mates with the shield perk etc

@steaminpotatoes @gameroutlawzz @CrusaderForever Nope. But with the right stick rolls its pretty easy to move into the shield. Ive been playing a good 100hrs with a friend where he comes along with his PS3,we plug 2 tvs side by side and he played his DH while I play my WD and we had no issues at all. The shield bubble is big enough so you dont miss it. Ive played the PC version on release until I got my account hacked in a single night, I gave up on the game until the PS3 version came out and I can deffinately tell you that the console version is a thousand times more enjoyable than the PC version. Controls are fluid and co-op makes it a no brainer.

@gameroutlawzz Well i disagree with the last part as everyone i know plays the PC version so it's also a no brainier but that is not what i was trying to discuss :P

Using a Controller felt wonky and lacked the precision needed that made it fun in the first place and the controls are as tight as you can get from an ARPG.

@steaminpotatoes Well as long as youre having fun is what matters hehe. Everyone I know who once purchased the pc version moved on to other games while my friend whos been playing the console versio nwith me we've both pre-ordered the UEE for PS3 and have been playing alot in the past months. Weve just recently slowed down abit until aug 19th and went back to DS2 to try out the new DLC but Im really hyped to finally get to experience the new act and class,along with the rifts runs etc. I just hope in the long run the console version gets the same treatment as the PC version so I can enjoy patch 2.1 .
