Fallout 3 ships 4.7 million in first week

i played for 10 hours STRAIGHT yesterday. couldn't stop playing. thanks for the game todd howard and bethesda crew!

Fallout 3 equals one of the worst games ive ever played in my entire life.

Yeah, I don't care about total sales. I want to see individual sales across platforms to see how the PC version stacked up. I'll be getting the PC version. I'm hoping it will have a good mod community to fix the inevitable flaws that I'll find. The Oblivion mod scene really raised the bar on that game and made changes that Bethesda should've made officially.

GOW2 will match it...going to go to the midnight release now

Fallout 4, please let me play after the ending and finish side quests and explore more of the map! This was a great game.

This may be an unfair comparison, but Spore (with its 3 activations only DRM) sold ~1 million copies in its first week of sales, while Fallout 3 (with Securom-only) sold 4.7 million. So far I'm finding Fallout 3 a worthy successor, and it's nice to buy a game that I can play as many times as I want to. :) Thanks Bethesda.

No wonder Besthesda publishes its own games, theres enough money for them right there to retire the company and all of its employees with multi-million dollar serevnce packages. Still not sure if Fallout 3 is for me given I've never played any of them before but it looks deserving of its giant sales.

I hope some of that money goes towards another Elder Scrolls game. I like Fallout 3, but I personally like Oblivion more.

Woot... Finishing Fable 2 now. I will pick up my copy of Fallout 3 to play during my coming 2 week vacation. War never changes... I CANNOT WAIT!

Damn...4.7 million?Still,it won't be able to top GTA IV sales.Hey,i'm not hating on this game or anything.I'm just trying to point something out.Definately buying this game for Christmas after reading this update on the game.

ROFL!" from what ive seen, and played, of left 4 dead, thats a very real possibility. game is fast paced and fun as hell, cant wait for the full release now. sure, its got some stiff competition, but if the full game is as good as the demo its at least in the running.

Congrats @ Bethesda! They deserve every penny of that 4.7 mill...wish I had that...I am surprised since I didn't expect the game to sell that much. I estimated about 2 million actually, but I can be happy that I helped contribute to those numbers since I stayed up all night and got to the store when they opened. A brilliant game from a brilliant company! Now where's Elder Scrolls 5?

That's highly impressive for first-week-sales. I wish I had the money. I'd buy this game and Fable II as they are both tremendously well-done.

Well, Bethesda did hit their target audience with such greats a Harold the tree ghoul and Knights of Steel

I got this on PC and wow it is AMAZING, sad though that bethesda would make such a crappy port to the PS3. And those who say this game is little more than oblivion with guns couldn't be more wrong, they are morons THIS GAME IS FABULOUS

I want TES V.

I have Dead Space and Fable 2 and I haven't touched them since I got this game. It's a work of art. I'm honestly not even really looking forward to Gears...well maybe a little...but this game has my undivided attention right now.

As much as I enjoy the game, it feel way too much like a mod or an expansion pack to Oblivion.
