This weekend at PAX East, Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski revealed the world premiere trailer for his new PC game, currently codenamed Project Bluestreak. Attendees captured it via their phone cameras, but now Bleszinski and his new team at BossKey Productions have released an official version (above).

The trailer shows off pre-alpha footage, so be aware that the final version might look different. It suggests that the free-to-play first-person shooter itself, or at least one of its maps, will take place in a futuristic Asian setting. Unfortunately, no gameplay is shown.

Bleszinski also confirmed during the PAX East panel that Project Bluestreak will run on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4, which is now available to everyone for free.

"We considered several options regarding what technology we'd use to build Project BlueStreak," Bleszinski said. "Ultimately, we found ourselves coming full circle to my friends at Epic Games and the elegant solution for rapid and quality game development that is Unreal Engine 4."

Bleszinski, of course, worked at Epic Games for two decades before quitting in October 2012, eventually opening his own studio.

Project Bluestreak is set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi world. The game will be published by free-to-play juggernaut Nexon America. No release date for the game has been announced.
