Get 15 Free Games At Epic This Holiday - Solitairica Is Free Now

The Epic Games Store will have one free game per day for a limited time, and the latest is now available.

Epic already gives away free games every week on the Epic Games Store, but during a portion of December, it's upping its game and giving away a new freebie every day. This is more generous than even last year's promotion, as it's offering 15 free games over 15 days. With the end of the year quickly approaching, only a few of the freebies remain, but you can still grab them provided you sign up for (or already have) a free Epic account.

Today's freebie (December 29) is Solitairica, a card-based RPG that blends roguelike elements with Solitaire. You'll be able to download the game at no charge until 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET on December 30, when Epic's next freebie becomes available.

While Epic isn't revealing the freebies ahead of time, a leaked list of the 15 freebies has been spot on so far. So it looks as if you can expect the others on the list to still come, provided there are no last-minute changes.

In addition to giving away free games, Epic's Holiday Sale is live now and is filled with steep discounts on hundreds of games. You can get a free $10 off coupon to use during the sale on games priced $15 and up. Every time you make an eligible purchase, you'll get a new coupon. Essentially, there are many games that, with the coupon applied, are on sale for their best prices yet.

I prefer all the games on gamepass pc and console, love the achievements, and since I've played them I've yearned 10012 points, that's 10.02 cents, not to bad earn 100,000 points and it's 100$ but you need about 100,000 points, a million maybe 1000$ but it's entirely based on games Microsoft choose, but also playing cloud games, and bing searches also earn ya points.

Better than nothing.

@restatbonfire: I think he is referring to microsoft/bing rewards, gives you points for playing Xbox games and doing web searches, etc through bing web browser.

@restatbonfire: Well yes and no, if you have 180,000 that doesn't mean it translates to it. For example there might be, play 10 random games in 10 weeks and score 1000 points, and login once a day, earn 50 kills, 10cents is 100 points, ect doing bing searches on your phone (answer the trivia, or pc)t's 30points that's 0.3cents overall yes and no.

@gns: yes and no you can depending on your term cash out you can use it to buy groceries, or buy 3 months gamepass ultimate, buy Microsoft products ect,

But each 10 points translates to 0.1 cent,

So 100 points is 10cents, 1000 points is $1 and 10000 points is $10, 30,000 is $30.

Sadly I have no idea if it will last forever given mixer platform died out unexpectedly, so don't think it will be easy to get.

But yes you can play games and earn, and inregards to achievement score thats unrelated, if your a Xbox embassador (meaning moderator, with 10,000 minimum points) yes you can also get privileges to the forum, special events, and for creating positive environment. But if someone flags you, you'll be taken out of the program, but that service has been running since 2009

Good guy Epic Games, already built a library of >100 games this year without paying a cent. And some of those games are actually good. If this isn't combating piracy, I don't know what is.

@gns: i wonder how this combats piracy as its just "free" games from different source. someone is paying someone. its impossible its just epic paying publishers and devs themselves so they can gain marketshare and hopefully one day later kill steam and then start charge money to make the money they are losing now. or wish that every person who snags the free game then proceeds to buy 2 or more other games from the service

anyway to me this deflates value. most of the games are like someone offering me plastic cups in a flea market. i dont need them or want them so i dont take even if is free. usually when there is something id be interested in i didnt even notice to check

still cool that epic is having some xmas spirit

@PrpleTrtleBuBum: Uhm no. Its mutually beneficial to both the devs and Epic as it is a marketing move for both.

@ohmya337: how long you can call it a marketing move? all business schools say dont give for free as in long run it just means financial issues.

i understand if epic offered free games for 6 months or so to gain that market ground and goodwill (which ironically was countered by the china money and exclusive schemes) but it seems like this is staying

gog usually offers the 2 dollar games free and other services have subscription fees

then again the annual cod costs like 50 millions to make and 200 millions to market so

At this point, I think my mom is the only person who ever gave me more games than Epic.

While I still prefer Steam as a launcher and mainly buy my games from there, I still appreciate how Epic is simply handing out games each week and I've built a huge respectable library on that service exclusively from those free games. Still hard to believe how much they gave away, simply wow.

I buy from EGS when I have the option. More $ to the developers. I don't need any of the extra fluff other launchers have.

Find it funny that people will put up with all sorts of garbage if it's steam, but won't even take free games from epic. It's not like you don't need other launchers to run steam stuff too. Steam has plenty of exclusives. You guys need to stop formulating your life choices from crap you copped on Twitter...

@faithxvoid: Agreed.

Back in my day. You would have a crap ton of launchers and 3rd party software to play your games on PC, even hardware. Remember the days of needing to invest in a graphics card, sound card, a new PSU to power it. And then needing 3 official software, and 2 non official software you had to get from the tech software library at the tech store. Just to get your games made in Europe and Asia to work right?

These kids don't understand the struggle of PC's past. Heck, I remember when Steam was a crock of shite, and didn't even work well. People love to ignore that solid and oh so crucial fact, all the time.

@illegal_peanut: I'm old and I remember being a kid and installing a Soundblaster and single speed cd drive(the kind that you had to put the CD in a special case and put the case in the drive). You had to hand code the bios to install it.

I mean, when running that extra software was going to be a performance tax due to everyone almost always being memory starved was a thing or when people weren't practically giving away platter drives...I get worrying about installing extra software.

I also don't like the current business model of hoarding IPs exclusively to yourself in order to add the value to your service. It's very consumer unfriendly - as the new rise in piracy since the market has become saturated with streaming services clearly shows. It also stagnates innovation.

The thing is when you rigidly adhere to a platform(and Valve knows it), you get no innovation because competition drives innovation. There were digital game stores before Steam. They didn't make you install any clients and didn't contain any extra DRM. So, once people buy in and become Steam sycophants, their biggest gripe with other platforms becomes "Why do I have to install a client??!! Why is there DRM??!!". It's like a FIFA player complaining about loot crates in Overwatch...

@faithxvoid: absolutely loving the obsequeus steam zombies. Let's see...first bugs. How about the fact that it's literally the only client on pc that doesn't play nice with an ac1900 wifi adapter. Even if you throttle downloads, steam and only steam will hog all bandwidth.

Literally...the ONLY reason I got steam back in the day is because secret of monkey island special edition was exclusive to steam. A MASSIVE chunk of games are steam exclusive for the drm.

Now that I've, once again exposed you steam sheep for having turnip brains, I'm off...

Examples of games requiring other launchers when bought via Steam? At the top of my head, any recent Ubisoft game.
